Welcome
“A special project supported by people who are concerned about the increasing cycle of child abuse”

The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit child-care facility that serves as a long-term, residential home for dependent, abused and neglected children.  The purpose of Bluebonnet is to provide a safe, healthy, family-oriented environment for children who have been victims of abuse and/or neglect.  The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch has an enduring obligation to ensure that the children are encouraged, disciplined, protected and raised in nurturing environments that build foundations of excellence.  The organization strives to provide a life as normal as possible for the youth, and all the advantages for the children to grow and achieve their full potential in each aspect of life.  The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is licensed by the state of Texas, and referrals for placement are accepted from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS), families, courts and private sources.

The operation officially opened its doors in 1972 and is located four miles south of Yoakum, Texas.  It is situated between San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Victoria to primarily serve the South Texas area.  Bluebonnet cares for children from infancy to age 18 or upon high school graduation.
